Here are some of the ports in Southern Europe: |

FRANCE |
Bordeaux |
Bordeaux is located at the mouth of the River Gironde in the
largest estuary in Europe. |

There are six special terminals in the
port for handling the containers, cruise ships, oil, chemicals,
fertilizers and grain. In fact Bordeaux is Europe’s leading
port for maize. |
|
|
|
|
Bordeaux is also popular with cruise ships. |

MOROCCO |

Safri |
|
Safri is located on the Atlantic coast of Morocco. There are
three special areas in the port. One is the Fishing Harbour
(SAfri is an important fishing port one hanles general cargo
and the third handles sulphur and acids. |

PORTUGAL |

Aveiro |
|
Aveiro is located on the West coast of Portugal at the mouth of the Ria de
Aveiro. |
|
|
|
|
It is about 30 miles from the city of Oporto. The port handles general
cargo, grain, paper, cement, steel and liquid chemicals. |
|
|
|
|
Aveiro is often called the Venice of Portugal because of its canal and many
lagoons. It is famous for colorful fishing boats called moliceiros. |

SPAIN |

Seville |
|
Seville is the capital city of Andalusia and is the main
artistic, economic and cultural centre in Southern Europe.
The port is about 80 kms from the mouth of the River
Guadalquivir and handles all types of cargo. It has the
advantage of serving both the Mediteranean and the Atlantic. |
